Is your diet failing you?
Does this routine sound familiar?
Can you stick to your diet for the first 3/4 of the day and then suddenly find that post evening you find yourself caving in to your cravings and going over the top on sweets/crisps/chocolate etc?
- The trick is to identify why your caving in, in the evening. Is it due to added stress of home/family life? Is it down to you missing those foods in your diet that you've restricted too much? - If your aim is to loose weight in the early days, you'll struggle to restrict yourself too much as 9 times out of 10 it is impossible and unrealistic to eat 4 meals a day of chicken, broccoli and rice. If your craving is crisps, factor crisps into your diet.
We always go generically off an 80/20 split. 80% of the diet through single ingredient whole foods and 20% of whatever the hell you want. Until the diet calls for a tighter restriction there would be nothing wrong with having a packet of crisps every day or every other day, rather than 7 bags in one night because you've been craving them all week.
- Figure out what your cravings are, find out why you have those cravings and then look at strategies how to eliminate those binges.
This is for the early days in weight loss, granted as the diet becomes more strict and weight loss plateaus, more whole foods and single ingredient foods are required. The point is, don't jump on the tuppawear band wagon if you don't need to.
